It was inevitable, the ants have finally counter-attacked, be it a feeble, last-ditch effort. The traps I laid evidently had done their job, except for one little insect....
I was walking in my kitchen barefoot when I felt I sharp pain in the bottom of my foot. I jumped around a bit, then bent down to look at the floor. There was a solitary ant there, spinning around. I figured I had stepped on him and then he bit me out of reflex and was obviously hurt. I took another step and the pain was still there, so I went into my bathroom and examined my foot. I found a small shard of glass still embedded in it. That was when I realized what had truly happened. That ant hadn't bit me, he had carried that shard of glass as a last act of revenge, into my kitchen for me to step on. I could invision him running, holding that glass in his tiny jaw, arriving just in time to plant the glass under my foot as I was stepping down. As I sat there in the bathroom, it came to me that he wasn't flopping around on the floor in death throes, he was breakdancing, as anyone who owns an ant farm knows that ants do when they celebrate.
I ran back to the kitchen and he was gone. I could see his tale unfolding in my head. He must have gone back to his anthill (which I am sure ants simply refer to as hills) and found that all one million of his relatives lay there dying from the traps I laid. I could see him falling to his six knees, looking up at the sky and screaming "NOOOOOO!!!!!!" At that moment he swore his revenge. He hiked single-mindedly back into my house and waited patiently for his moment to strike, living off of breadcrumbs and whatever else he could forage. Back at his hive, his name was probably Herbert9865493, but to me he is now known to me as the lone warrior, a single ant transformed into a valiant soldier at the moment of his family's death. You will be a worthy adversary my little friend, but hear this, I will take you down, I will take you down to Chinatown.
Wow, now that is a heroic ant. He almost gave his own life to avenge his many, many, many relatives. I think you may have met your match. Hang in there man. We all want to see you win this battle. I know that it will be tough, but the ending rewards will outweigh the rough ride.
